Guidance

Choosing the Right LED Display

Comparing LED display products is easier when the key selection factors are clear. The points below explain what to consider when reading the specification table — for a detailed breakdown of pixel pitch and viewing distance, see our LED screen pixel pitch guide.

Pixel pitch and resolution

Pixel pitch is the distance between adjacent LED pixels, measured in millimetres — a P2 LED display has a 2 mm pitch. A smaller pitch places more pixels in the same area, producing a higher-resolution LED screen wall that stays sharp at closer viewing distances.

Viewing distance

The right pitch depends on how far the audience sits from the screen. Closer viewing needs a finer pitch; distant viewing, such as a highway billboard, can use a coarser pitch. Matching pitch to viewing distance avoids paying for resolution the audience cannot perceive.

Indoor vs outdoor environments

Indoor LED screen panels operate in controlled lighting and typically use lower brightness and lighter cabinets. Outdoor LED displays must overcome direct sunlight, so they need higher brightness and weatherproof enclosures rated for rain, dust and wind load.

Brightness by installation condition

Brightness should match the ambient light at the site — a daylight-lit lobby or storefront needs more brightness than a dim auditorium. Specifying brightness around the actual environment, rather than maximising it, balances visibility with cost and power use.

Maintenance and installation

Installation method and service access matter for long-term reliability. Wall-mounted indoor LED walls often need front-serviceable cabinets, while outdoor screens require safe access for rear or front maintenance depending on the structure.

Installations

The examples below are completed installations — each project’s actual specifications are documented on its own project page and may differ from the generic table values depending on the confirmed product configuration and site.

FAQ

Product Selection FAQ

LED screen pixel pitch is the distance between the centres of two adjacent LED pixels, measured in millimetres — for example, P2 means a 2 mm pitch. A smaller pitch packs more pixels into the same area, producing a higher-resolution image that stays sharp at closer viewing distances. The right pitch depends on how far your audience sits from the screen; our LED screen pixel pitch guide explains this in detail.
